As CARs celebrated our 51st anniversary this year, we are thankful for the support of our customers all these years. Recently we have been busy upgrading our facilities and system to serve you better. You may have noticed our upgrades CARs app that provides greater transparency and convenience which allow booking of our services as well as gift sharing to tour loved ones such as friends and family member.
Since 2020, we have been upgrading our centres to provide a more conducive environment for customers including the introduction of our CARs Premier sub-brand which you have seen at our Paragon, Jewel Changi Airport and Ngee Ann City outlet. We continue to keep a lookout of new outlet to enlarge our footprint, in order to provide even greater accessibility for our customers.
We would like to take this time and share with everyone our plan to raise the price of our member car wash and other services with effect from 1 January 2025. We have held back on increasing price for as long as we could. However since our last price increase in year 2020, manpower and rental cost have increased and went up by more than 25% on average. Our equipment and consumable cost have increased even more. Some of our long term customers may also realise that many of our services have kept price constant for more than 2 decades. It was made possible in the past by continuing investment in technology to increase our efficiency, as we sought to avoid raising prices. However, the constant price pressure from rental and wages increase plus new prevailing GST rate made us no longer feasible without price adjustments.
We ask for your understanding and assure that this was only done after exhausting all other options. We look forward to continue serve you for the next 50 years and working towards on further improvements to our services and offerings.
